Arts and Crafts
Woodcarving Demonstration
Thursday, May 5th, 1-3 p.m. The library will host the Ozarks Whittlers and Woodcarvers for an afternoon woodcarving  demonstration.

Beginning Woodcarving
Thursday, May 5th, 3-5 p.m. Learn to carve something from nothing! This class will cover the basics of woodcarving, tool sharpening, and safety as taught by Steve Smith of the Ozarks Whittlers and Woodcarvers. Cost is $5.00 for supplies. Registration  required. Call (417)581-2432 or click here.

Home Grown Books: Meet the Authors
Saturday, May 7th,  1-3 p.m. Missouri authors G. David Walker and Daniel Ferguson will discuss their experiences writing and publishing their books, followed by a book signing.  G. David Walker wrote the fantasy novel From a Far Land, while Daniel Ferguson wrote the science fiction thriller The Dagger-Key and the Lost Treasures of Kebadon. Registration required by 5/4/11. Crowe: Book Signing with Joey Mills
Saturday, May 14th, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.  Crowe is the debut novel of Ozark resident Joey Mills, about the journey of Civil War soldier Johnny Crowe and the mysterious man he meets who always has a solution for Johnny’s predicament in his magical trunk, provided Johnny is willing to pay the price. Meet Mr. Mills at the Christian County Library.

Read the Movie Book Club: Angela’s Ashes
Saturday, May 28th, 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m. We’ll read the novel Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt during the month of May, then meet to watch the movie and discuss the novel and its film adaption. Registration required. Call (417)581-2432 or click here.

Cyber Security
Saturday, May 14th, 10-11 a.m. NEW CLASS! Would you like to get online but are afraid to catch a virus? Would you like to begin paying bills or shopping online but are afraid that a cyber criminal will steal your credit card or other personal information? Join us for our Cyber Security class and learn how to be more careful and aware while online and in your e-mail box. This class will address computer and online security techniques. Introduction to E-Mail
Monday, May 16th, 5:30-6:30 p.m. We will go over the basics of email, set up an account, and practice sending and receiving a few. If you’ve never had an e-mail account and would like to set one up, or if you are currently using e-mail but want to learn more about it, this class is for you. Registration required. Introduction to the Internet
